Fabrizio Senta was active after 1650. It is not known who he studied with or who carried on his tradition, and it is only known that he has a few instruments that have survived.
It is believed that Senta and Gioffredo Cappa worked together because of the similarities between the scrolls and the curves of the edges of their instruments. The quality of the material used for the purfling and the way they finish it is also very similar. Since Cappa’s instruments are worth more, many sellers put Cappa labels on Senta’s instruments to get more money for them, which has caused a lot of confusion regarding these instruments’ data. The middle bout of Senta’s instruments have very small curves, making them almost straight, which influenced the way instruments were made among the future generations within the Piedmont school.
