Girolamo Amati’s son, Nicolò Amati, was the third generation of the Amati family. Nicolò Amati not only brought the Amati family to the pinnacle of success, but was the best violin maker and instructor of the Cremonese School in 1630s. His students and followers such as Andrea Guarneri, Francesco Ruggeri and Antonio Stradivari, were all excellent luthiers.
